VCAT, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal make decisions about a wide range of cases including planning disputes.
Objections
Any person who may be adversely affected by a planning application can lodge an objection at VCAT. Objectors have 21 days to lodge an objection following the issue of a permit and must be prepared must be prepared to present evidence at a hearing.
Appeal
If a permit is refused by Council or an applicant wishes to contest the conditions listed on a permit they can lodge an appeal with VCAT. Applicants have 60 days to lodge an appeal following Council’s refusal or the issue of a permit.
